On Saturday, we awoke to snowy morning with a golden sun that burnished the tops of the trees as it arose. Then, as MIL Darlene and I left home to drive to the Longarm Quilters of New Mexico meeting, we encountered a cow making her way along our road. We have no idea where she came from or where she was going, but I sure hope she got there. Yesterday (Sunday) it began to snow steadily and the remaining photos are from today (Monday). Oh, and it's still gently snowing. The high temperature today was 13 degrees, and it's currently -2 degrees. It's a tad chilly here.

It doesn't happen often at all, but it turns out that my next quilt, from Kira, was (for the most part) the same pattern and fabric as the one I completed before hers. You will see that the center panel has a different background color and Kira opted for binding as shown in the pattern, with two sides having a curved edge, and the other two being straight. I used Sew Fine on top and Magna Glide in the bobbin.

Eve asked that I create an all-over design for this quilt, except for the center bordered in fuschia. I took some extra batting and placed a double layer in that center and then framed the center with deep red leaves and stitched the branches, flowers and birds in the center using a deep brown thread. All threads on top were Sew Fine and MagnaGlide was used in the bobbin. I received a good half dozen hugs when I delivered her quilt today!

Due to popular demand :-) I'm sharing photos of my added lighting for my Gammill. It's sometimes quite a challenge to see clearly where I've been or where I'm going when the thread matches the fabric a bit too well. I found a solution by clipping two Ikea task lights to my Gammill handles and angling one from the left-side back and one from the right-side front. Now, this solution isn't "pretty" as the cords wrap and wind and travel to the back where they are joined with the machine power cord and eventually plug in next to it--it does, however, work beautifully! Thanks, Ikea, for those amazingly LONG cords!

It took me forever it seemed to finally finish my bamboo scarf...and I love how it blocked! It is the softest yarn, heavenly against one's skin.

The lace shawl was knitted using a 100% rayon yarn, called Rick Rack, and hand dyed y Judy L. Ditmore. This one also blocked beautifully.

It's amazing just how much knitting one can get done when recuperating from a nasty sinus infection. Now that I've recovered, knitting again takes a backseat to quilting.

Cindy made this quilt as a special Christmas gift for one of her sons who recently moved into a new apartment. I used a curvy design to complement all the straignt lines and angles of the top. Again, Sew fine on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

Wow! I am impressed with Rebeccca's first quilt, this adorable Sunbonnet Sue. I gave the quilting a somewhat traditional look to complement her quilt top. What do you think? BTW, I used Sew Fine on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

Kira whipped this out quickly and as busy as the prints are, I did an all-over freehand design with a neutral thread, usinbg Sew Fine on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

There were several thread changes on Teresa's quilt to ensure that the thread blended and the texture was the star. I used Marathon and Sew Fine threads on the top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

This is such a precious baby quilt that has a classic look to it with the machine appliqued carriages in black and pinks. For this one, I used a pale pink thread in So Fine on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.
