Dana D's Stars!

Teacher Dana made this bright and complicated star quilt (96" square). I finally finished it's been on the machine since last Sunday. It was a challenge to come up with creative ways to highlight each and every star. I used Sew Fine and Lava on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

A Gees Bend quilt by Meg

I used a simple lace-like EZ-Quilt pattern to quilt Meg's Gees Bend quilt, using Sew Fine in top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

Joyce's BOM

Now THIS is a gorgeous quilt from a fairly new quilter. Joyce gave me the freedom to do whatever I wished and it was such a joy to find ways to highlight her piecing. I used SewFine on top and MagnaGlide in the bobbin.

This little light of mine...

Due to popular demand :-) I'm sharing photos of my added lighting for my Gammill. It's sometimes quite a challenge to see clearly where I've been or where I'm going when the thread matches the fabric a bit too well. I found a solution by clipping two Ikea task lights to my Gammill handles and angling one from the left-side back and one from the right-side front. Now, this solution isn't "pretty" as the cords wrap and wind and travel to the back where they are joined with the machine power cord and eventually plug in next to it--it does, however, work beautifully! Thanks, Ikea, for those amazingly LONG cords!

Using MicroDrive Handles on my Gammill

For those among you who have a longarm, and who have contemplated installing handles for more precision when doing detail work, I have created a short video showing their use. For the record, I LOVE my MicroDrive Handles!

Martha K's Dark Pinwheels

I loved working on this quilt--so flat and such rich colors! The quilting was all freehand--I used Sew Fine on top in a fairly dark, muted green, and black MagnaGlide in the bobbin.
