Jan's Irises

It was challenging when faced with this lovely wallhanging...I wasn't sure what I would do in the background and opted to do a variety of fills. I used Sew Fine and Monopoly threads.

Kira's Squares

Kira's quilt was freehanded in a curvy design, with CCs in the small brown squares. I used Sew Fine in a soft yellow throughout which blended nicely with the fabric colors.

NMQA Community Service

This quilt will be turned in to the NMQA (New Mexico Quilters' Association) at their March meeting for binding and to go into their "quilt bank". It's always a treat to work on such a pretty and creative quilt top--it has an almost watercolor look. I used Sew Fine thread throughout.

Cindy K's Snowballs

Bright, current fabrics paired with an old-fashioned block were given a fun design with loops and CCs in the body of the quilt and feathers in the border. I used monopoly thread on top and Sew Fine in the bobbin to ensure there was lots of texture without drawing attention to the thread. Cindy was thrilled with the result!

50th Anniversary

Cheryl G. made this special quilt in honor of the 50th wedding annivrsary of her parents' long time friends. Using cross-hatching, feather wreaths, a feathered border and a background fill to make the embroidery pop and give this an heirloom treatment. I used Sew Fine throughout.

Cathy A's Flower Power

Cathy's floral flowers (yes, I know it's redundant and yet accurate) are cheerful and fun. This lovely cuddle quilt is ready for spring. It was quilted using monopoly and Sew Fine.

Laura B's Curves

Isn't this pretty? Laura uses batiks and curves to great advantage. I enjoyed creating something unique to highlight the flow of this quilt. Once again, I used monopoly and Sew Fine.

Martha's Saturday Sampler

Martha's Saturday Sampler from the LQS used a totally different pallete and laughed when the pattern went unrecognized at first. I was given free reign on this quilt and really went for it, using monopoly and Sew Fine throughout. Martha's comment when she got her quilt back? "Kathryn, you knocked this one out of the park!" Yep, she liked it...a lot! :-)
