Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, it WAS my birthday in July, when DH bought the gorgeous batik fabric I wanted to make my "Professional Tote". I finished it just before we took a whirlwind road trip to California last weekend. It holds all manner of personal items, there's a place for a water bottle on each side, and roomy enough to hold my current knitting project. I love it!!

Two more

The flowers in the larger blocks are five different freehand designs that I rotated through four repetitions. Clear as mud?

Cindy's quilt for her Mom

Cindy did a beautiful job on this quilt...such perfect little squares! She wanted something special as this quilt will be for her mother's upcoming birthday. I used Sew Fine in the bobbin for the entire quilt. Again, when faced with such diversity of color in the outer border and within the large squares, I used mono-poly to give texture without overtaking the quilt with thread color. I plan to deliver it tomorrow...here's hoping she approves!

Recumbant ladies

And here's another photo that picks up the texture in Phoebe's quilt.

Phoebe's Ladies in Hats

This quirky quilt was great fun to work on. The ladies definitely have attitude!! I used Sew Fine in bobbin throughout, and Sew Fine on top in the background behind the ladies. For the rest of this bright and bold quilt, I used mono-poly on top so as to provide texture without competing with all those colors.
