Hooray--Second Place!

While I was away on vacation, the biannual Fiber Arts Fiesta took place. I had entered my "Flights of Fancy" whole cloth wall hanging and it took a second place ribbon in its category (wall hangings). I've included a couple of photos of the work in progress and then the finished product. Again, HOORAY!!

For Lin by Darlene

My MIL Darlene made this lovely quilt for her friend in San Diego, Lin. I was asked to quilt it using roses and as there is a daisy design in the dark green fabric, I added daisies too. Sew Fine was my thread choice and we used cotton batting.

Cheryl's Baby Quilt

This little cutie has embroidered sleepytime critters. I used a pale yellow thread, Sew Fine, and freehanded the design to show off the little guys.

Lynette's first grandbaby

My hair stylist asked me to create a special quilt for her first grandchild (a boy, born May 8). This jungle themed quilt was designed using EQ6 (Electric Quilt), made by my MIL, Darlene, quilted by me, and bound by Darlene. It was delivered today and Lynette loved it! The top fabrics were 100% cotton, with a cotton flannel backing, and cotton batting--it was quilted with Marathon thread.
