I'm doing the Snoopy Dance! This afternoon, I found out that my client (see July 28th entry below) entered her quilt into the New Mexico State Fair and she/we won a 1st place ribbon for "wall hanging" and Best of Show for "wall hanging". She's already given me her applique/embroidery quilt that she wants quilted "heirloom" style; she's hoping to pick up another ribbon at next year's fair. Thank goodness I have plenty of time to get it done! :-)

My LQS was celebrating their 30th year with a surprise signature quilt for the owners that I volunteered to quilt. As with most quilts created by a large group of people, and especially with lots of bias edges, the quilt had extra fullness throughout. I worked at distributing the fullness without creating tucks and, thankfully, was successful. The background fabric was quilted with Sew Fine thread in top and bobbin in a color that blended. A clear monofilament thread was used when quilting in all the colored areas to ensure that the signature blocks remained a focus (rather than the quilting).
