Shrug and Hat

How I love my library! Found this cute shrug pattern and used Bernat Camouflage. Who knew? Girly camo! I used my new Knitpicks Harmony wood circulars on the shrug...they are a dream to knit with.

Another baby item. This sweater was knit with Beatrice 100% merino wool and the purple borders are in Lamb's Pride, 85% wool and 15% mohair.

Booties!

TaDaaaa! Starting small and simple, a sweet pair of booties made for Grandbaby Fuller (gender to be determined next week). Morgan and Viviana are expecting; the due date is late March/early April. Thankfully, Morgan will have returned from Afghanistan about three months ahead of the due date.

Kilt Hose Finis

Daryl is modeling his new kilt hose which were finished just over two weeks ago. I'm pleased with how they turned out and, even more importantly, Daryl loves them! I suggest to anyone who attempts such an endeavor to choose a short man with little stubby legs; as I knit, and knit, and knit up toward the top I became oh so conscious of what long shanks my beloved has. Of course, at 6'3", I should not have been surprised.
It will be a while before I do another pair...thankfully, our next grandchild has inspired me to start knitting baby things (and it's a wonderful excuse to put off doing kilt hose for the foreseeable future).

Kilt Hose in Progress

Well, I'm making progress and Daryl was kind enough to try on one for "blog-and-tell". It may be that I will need to do another pair when these are done, having learned much from the process.

I've lost count a few times and have done a bit of un-knitting; not my favorite thing! More photos will follow as I make progress.

My Spirit Animal

Here's your results!

Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 12 out of 18.
Your spirit animal is the wolf. It is a ferocious companion, and a loyal friend. It is both a respectable and noble creature; to have this spirit animal says good things about you, and that you are starting to figure things out. Wolves are pretty rare spirit animals.
***Wondering how this animal was chosen for you? These questions were carefully thought out to see how important you hold certain virtues such as: humanism, self-knowledge, rationalism, the love of freedom and other somewhat Hellenic ideals. Some of the questions were very subtle. Your score was then matched with an animal of corresponding nobility. However, you shouldn't think this was a right/wrong sort of test, but more of an idealistic values test. It's ok to not hold these values, you'll just get an animal spirit of lower stature if you do!*** My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 66% on Nobility

Inspector Cozmo

Well I finally finished this pair of socks and they have been duly inspected for quality by Cozmo, the ever helpful Schipperke. The pattern I used for the front of the socks doesn't show well in the photographs and are an alternating 2 x 2 ribbing which create a woven look. The kilt hose are on the needles and when I have accomplished more than the toes, I'll post an update.

I'm knittin' as fast as I can!

Well, okay, I could knit a bit faster, but time does get away from me. I'm almost finished with a pair of socks for a friend (a surprise) with just a few inches to go on the cuff. Yes, I knitted these 'toe up', two on two double pointed needles. I really love finishing a pair all at once...none of that starting all over again on sock #2. As soon as these are done, I'll post a photo to the blog.

I only have about a foot done on the lace scarf I'm knitting, for me. As it's for me, I can put this off.

My next project will be a pair of knitted kilt hose for my DH, Daryl. I'm itching to get those going as they will be a great project to take along on a couple of trips I have planned in the months to come.

Watch out for those dropped stitches!

Two of my guys

Murphy (L) and Angus (R) are sharing the open dining room window. We've been having beautiful days here, in the mid 70s, which are just a taste of what's to come. We will likely have another cold spell soon before Spring arrives in full.

Love that self striping yarn!

This latest pair is for me! I'm going to have to learn to be patient as my cuff length could be a bit longer. On the good side, I've become adept at finding the matching the starting point on both skeins, dontcha think?
I have another pair on the needles that will be a gift for a friend. I'm also working on a lace scarf...all in my copious spare time!

Twisted!

Here it is...my first mobius scarf using the pattern and technique shown on Knitty Gritty. My knitting group, Slipped Stitches, took this project on at the suggestion of Diane. Once we got the hang of it, it was fast and fun! this was finished in January, 2007.
